Goals & Objectives

Empowerment

To empower newcomers, with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to succeed in their new environment.

  • Provide access to language training, employment workshops, trade and skill acquisition programs
  • Offer mentorship and coaching to support personal and professional development.
  • Facilitate access to community resources, social networks, and support services.

Integration

To promote the successful integration of newcomers into Canadian culture while preserving their cultural identity through language exchanges, cultural awareness, cultural festivals and art exhibitions

  • Deliver orientation sessions and cultural integration workshops.
  • Offer mentorship and coaching to support personal and professional development.

Inclusion

To foster an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates diversity as well as promotes social cohesion.

  • Create safe and welcoming spaces for newcomers to connect and share experiences.
  • Implement anti-discrimination policies and promote diversity awareness and inclusion training.
  • Engage with diverse communities and stakeholders to ensure representation and participation.
  • Providing emergency accommodation, shelter or safe beds for newcomers and refugees.
  • Provision of medical support and supplies-First Aid kits, harm reduction kits and hygiene items like toiletries, clothing and establishing partnerships with Food and Clothing Banks
  • Offering counselling and Immigration services to newcomers and people with psychological distress due to trauma and abuse as well as organize workshops and seminars to keep youths away from drug and substance abuse through volunteering, peer mentorship and skulls training
  • Advocating for the rights, needs, and interests of newcomers and youths at the local, provincial, and national levels for policies and programs which support immigrant integration, women and youth empowerment and community development.
  • Collaborating with government agencies, policymakers, and community partners to address systemic barriers and gaps in services
  • Raising awareness on immigration issues, promoting social justice, and fora where the voices of newcomers and youths can be heard and talents showcased.
  • Providing personal and healthcare assistance to the senoirs and elderly among the community.
